The High Street

Ruislip High Street, where we have the pleasure of being based, offers a great selection of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.  From the better known like Boots, Zaza’s, Costa Coffee and Pizza Express (to name a few!), we also have some great local businesses like The Hop and Vine, Red Onion Café, Cosy Coffee and many more.  It’s always bustling whether you visit during the day or evening, and you will be greeted by a friendly community.  At the end of the High Street you will find St Martins Church which dates back to the 13th Century. 

THE ONLY BEACH IN LONDON

Ruislip Lido

Ruislip Lido is visited by many families, dog walkers and locals all  year round.  It has a 60-acre lake with a sandy beach, miniature railway, playground, pub serving pizza and carvery and café.  Being a local resident will also entitle you to free parking here if you use your London Borough of Hillingdon Resident’s Card.

Getting Around

Ruislip is only 14 miles from the heart of the city, and taking just 30 minutes to the centre of London by train, the area is an ideal commuter spot. For those wanting to escape the city, Ruislip’s links by car are some of the best in West London, with the A40, M40 and M25 on your doorstep.

by Car

Ruislip is adjacent to the A40, serving as A direct route into London, to Oxford via the M40 and M25 (Junction 16).

Ruislip is well served by buses connecting you to places such as Heathrow, Ruislip Lido, Uxbridge, Harrow, Northwood, Greenford, Ealing Broadway, Hillingdon, Harefield, Denham and West Drayton.

Ruislip Station is on the Uxbridge branch of the London Underground Metropolitan line and Piccadilly line, between Ruislip Manor and Ickenham stations.

Ruislip is 15 miles from Heathrow, the UK's largest airport. Travelling by taxi is the fastest, comfortable, and the most efficient way to travel from Ruislip to Heathrow Airport which takes about 30 minutes.

Manor Farm

Manor Farm is a local heritage site with many different events held and reasons to visit.  Here you will find Ruislip Library, The Great Barn (built around 1280) – a fantastic wedding venue, The Duck Pond, Winston Churchill Theatre, and the Ruislip War Memorial. The Duck Pond Market is a foodies market held on the 1st Sunday of every month where all the locals visit to get great produce and an Artisan market is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month.  You will also find Ruislip Bowls Club, where a friendly group of members play bowls at all levels.

Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve

For those who love the great outdoors, you can explore the local Ruislip Woods, a National Nature Reserve and biggest single area of woodland in Greater London. Covering 726 acres, here you can enjoy guided walks, bike paths and plenty of native plants & wildlife.

Sports & Leisure

There are lots of sports facilities and clubs that you can join. Kings College Playing Fields has a running track and skate park, with the River Pinn also running through it.  Here you will also find cricket, football and hockey pitches where local clubs play.  There is a busy Café, open throughout the year, where you can also sit outside in the summer.  Walkers often stop here to treat their dogs to a “doggie sausage” and water!  You can also find tennis courts in Church Field Gardens Park, located just behind the high street.  And for those who love to swim or use a gym, there is Highgrove Pool and Fitness Centre, which has a 33 meter swimming pool, where your children can also learn to swim.
